What is HACCP?
HACCP is a gateway system for food safety
If you can get your head around the fact that a pedestrian gate will probably only stop the dog from getting out, while a castle wall should stop an entire army, then you can probably get your head around HACCP. HACCP plans are designed to identify and control hazards, with tried and tested methods that ensure compliance with the Food Standards Code. To learn more about what HACCP stands for, and other food safety tips you can browse our food safety blog.
Why choose HACCP Principles and Applications Training?
The development of the food industry in South Australia is being actively supported by bodies such as Food South Australia and Primary Producers SA. In North Adelaide and Adelaide City alone, there are over 1000 food businesses registered with Adelaide City Council.
This push has driven the industry to generate over $9.6 billion in revenue in 2020-2021. To manage the growth, businesses introduce quality management systems. For a food business, the system is at a minimum a Food Safety Program that complies with the Food Standards Code but HACCP is increasingly common. Many food businesses are pushed into HACCP certification by their suppliers or voluntarily implement HACCP to open the business up to new markets.
HACCP certification signifies to other businesses the risks that come from growth are being actively managed daily. An important aspect of certification is staff training. HACCP Principles and Applications is a two-day course that someone responsible for developing or managing a HACCP plan commonly undertakes. While the training is not a requirement of HACCP certification for QMS Audits, it is the best way to begin the process of HACCP certification. We teach you how to minimise the risk and protect your business no matter how large you grow.
Investing in HACCP training equips businesses and employees with the skills required to identify and control hazards within the production process. By attending QMS Audits’ Adelaide HACCP training, it is even possible to get an edge over competitors as it is a globally recognised course.
HACCP Principles and Applications can also help your business save money as Adelaide City Council waives inspection fees for businesses that achieve zero non-compliances at audit. Having a HACCP plan will ensure these standards are met as the guidelines and training builds a more robust quality management system than an independent plan.
