Internal Auditor ISO 9001 FAQ
ISO 9001 is becoming a pre-requisite for an ever-increasing number of state and federal government departments both in Australia and overseas. For Importers and exporters it is becoming an essential gauge of an established and reliable supplier. More and more governments overseas are using ISO 9001 as a form of regulation for importers.
ISO 9001 is the basis for many industry standards, such as the Feed Ingredients And Additives Association (FIAAA) as well as FSSC 22000. Almost any and every type of business, from general manufacturing to flight training schools to accountancies and training organisations can become ISO 9001 certified.
ISO 9001 focuses on quality management systems, offering a framework or roadmap for organisations to implement strong, robust processes.
ISO 9001 considers the definition of quality to be consistently meeting customer and internal specifications while achieving regulatory compliance. Through analysis of your strategic direction and a SWOT analysis of your markets and business, you are able set relevant quality objectives.
As part of the ISO 9001 requirements, each organisation must document their process flow and conduct an analysis to ensure processes have been controlled to ensure consistency of outputs to specification.
As with all of the ISO standards, there are also support programs which need to be documented. These include training, communication and awareness, calibration as well as internal audits and management reviews to drive continuous improvement.
At QMS Audits, the basic guide is “Document what you do, then do what you have documented”.
This course includes two days of learning how to audit using ISO 19011:2018 and delving into ISO 9001:2015.
Students will gain a practical understanding of the responsibilities of an auditor, including how to:
- Assess compliance with Quality programs
- Communicate and negotiate to conduct audits
- Conduct audits
- Identify, evaluate and control safety hazards
Once all assessments are successfully completed, participants receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the following unit of
